8VC Website Icons/Illustrations
In 2022, I was contracted by 8VC to support the development of icons and illustrations for their website. The Design team had initiated a visual language but required additional assistance to complete the broader ecosystem. Additionally, they sought support in refining the original illustrations to align with the updated look and feel. The finalized illustrations were animated and integrated into their website.
To make sure we could communicate a range of objects and scenes for the illustrations, we used a 20x20 grid system. The main detail of the illustrations were constructed in a 15x15 grid system. We also created some guides to make things consistent. White is a highlight color and grey detail is secondary information.
Another guide we created was to add 45 degree cuts to objects for visual interest. At the end of this project the illustrations were sent to a motion designer and they were animated.
