8VC Website Icons/Illustrations
In 2022, I was contracted to help 8VC with icons/illustrations for their website. The Design team had already started a visual language, but needed some assistance creating the rest of the ecosystem. They also needed some help refining the original illustrations to the new look and feel. The final illustrations were animated and used on their website.
To make sure we could communicate a range of objects and scenes for the illustrations, we used a 20x20 grid system. The main detail of the illustrations were constructed in a 15x15 grid system. We also created some guides to make things consistent. White is a highlight color and grey detail is secondary information.
Another guide we created was to add 45 degree cuts to objects for visual interest. At the end of this project the illustrations were sent to a motion designer and they were animated.
